Headaches

Do you suffer from Headaches?

Tension-Headache

Physiotherapists are trained in differentiating the various forms of headaches and providing correct pathways for help. This may include referral to your doctor or a plan for physiotherapy management. Physiotherapists are trained to treat headaches that involve symptoms at the base of the skull and may extend into the ear, eye or jaw. This is often due to the overloading of joints in the upper neck, where the nerves from these areas extend over the head and face.

The successful management of these headaches involves not only treating symptoms but also treating the cause. The symptoms generally arise from the first three vertebrae in the neck closest to the skull. The cause however is far more complex often involving prolonged postures, stress, sleep position and even breathing pattern. If you have been suffering from headaches make an appointment with your physiotherapist and make a positive change in your life.
